A Little November Vignette

This popped into my head today when chatting with a friend about how vintage Bakelite/celluloid hairbrushes have a 50s/60s mom vibe.

They have such a domestic mom tone. Very suburbanite.

A mom who is just really fed up with your attitude, young lady! And is just going to snatch your arm and smack the shit out of your bottom and thighs.

Or something like that. Not my vibe, but a vibe.

  1. “Oooooohh!”
I was howling more with embarrassment than discomfort, given that my best friend was watching me getting my comeuppance over her mother’s knee. The telephone rang, causing a pause in the steady wallipong of hairbrush on my behind.
“Yes? Oh, hello, Mary. No, I’m afraid she’s not behaving herself at all. Her attitude today has been appalling, which is why she’s currently over my knee getting a well-deserved spanking. Oh, not, don’t you worry. Absolutely, I’ll tell her. You too, goodbye for now, Mary.”
    I knew what was coming.
“Your mother wanted you to know you’ll be getting another good spanking from her when you get home.”
She resumed her vigorous paddling with the hairbrush. My rear was already glowing furiously, and there was more to come. Being a time agent got me into all sorts of embarrassing situations…
    but there were compensations.
