Little Check-In

I promise, I am alive! November was busy with Thanksgiving plus my work end of year party and swag event (I am in charge of that!) plus all the “life” stuff going on. I have SO MANY posts in the works for the end of the year and the new year. I’m sorry they’ll be posted in a bit of a rush, but I want to get them in.

Upcoming: September, October, and November book round ups!

A blog about my Netherlands trip from earlier in the month. There was much galavanting and much spanking! I also have a post that expands on my last one about basically, what happened this year, and probably at least one more “fun” writing post.

For now, I am deep into my December daily posting – last year I just called it December Daily and posted on BlueSky and Twitter, but this year, I am posting on both of those, plus Fetlife, plus in a large group chat with friends and using the title of Spanko Advent. If you’d like to join along, check out my links above and use the tag #SpankoAdvent and follow my daily prompt. Maybe once January rolls around, I’ll make a single post with all 31 of them and the daily theme.

What is everyone up to? What are you reading? What are your holiday plans?

Whew

Ok, last week was kind of a heavy posting week. I’ve thrown myself into writing since that’s how I process things. Revisiting those posts that I wrote so long ago and had been holding onto, was both freeing and incredibly difficult. I should be able to share the experiences I want to, but looking back at the memories made me both smile and cry in equal measure. I have also been focused on some upcoming travel. I will be traveling to Europe alone for the first time ever in a few weeks for a (scene!) friend’s birthday. I tagged on two days before, in Amsterdam, and two days after, staying in Haarlem. I am looking forward to the alone time, frankly.

The August Book Round Up

Well, August was a slightly slower month for books – not for any nefarious reason, really. I had a hard time focusing to finish the book I had going while I was in Vegas at the end of the month, and a few I read earlier in the month were longer, so it naturally lead to reading slightly less overall. I’ve been dealing with COVID fog this week so only just finished my last August read here at the beginning of September. Also, my kiddo started school and that was all consuming, even though I was sick and couldn’t attend meet the teacher or drop her off at all! I masked up and picked out her first day outfit and got the requisite pictures.

Anyway, now I am in the middle of Madeline Martin’s newest novel, The Secret Book Society. I am moving kind of slowly through it because I just can’t focus, but it’s good so far. That said, let’s take a look back at August.
