Reconciling Kink Expressions Through Fiction – and stuff

Something that occurred to me recently, was the reconciling I have had to do, between the parts of my kink I actively engaged with for the last 15 years (the daddy stuff as I call it) and the parts I avoided (the uniform and discipline stuff). They don’t exist in conflict with each other at all, they’re very much complementary flavors for me, but they are not mutually exclusive. In theory, at least, they could be combined. I say in theory, because so far, the people I’ve engaged in these different types of play with, haven’t had much overlap. I suppose you could argue that there is a certain amount of caregiving in the uniform/discipline stuff I’ve talked about, and you’d be right, but it depends on the person whether that is a daddy vibe or simply…a caring authority figure (guardian? teacher? tutor? disciplinarian? mentor? – for a woman, I’d choose governess, but that’s complicated for me) vibe. Figuring it out is important, though. Exploring it in thought, writing, doing.

The February Book Round Up

My January Book Round Up lead to such great discussion, I think I’ll do it every month and since I never claimed this blog was about spanking anyway, you’ll just have to live with it! February went so fast compared to how January seemed to drag on. In February I read 16 books, including several short stories. I’ve always loved short stories (and novellas) as a format. The ability to tell a complete story, in less words, almost feels like magic to me. I don’t benefit from the skill of brevity so condensing ideas is always a challenge and I feel triumphant when I am successful. In terms of audiobooks, they are also great for slightly longer car rides that aren’t quite road trip length, when you want a complete story.

The emotionally difficult things I am dealing with, are sadly, still unresolved. I had some hope in the last week that they may improve, but frankly, they may never. Coming to terms with that this week has been difficult and I’ve escaped into books (specifically the K.J. Charles series mentioned below). Kink still feels far away but Daniel and I have been connecting more, so I will likely write about that this week. I feel such a sense of loss though, in the friendships that have been lost and likely forever changed by what is going on. I’ve stayed busy this week and have a lot to look forward to, so I am trying to focus on those things as I process my grief mostly alone.

This month’s reads bring my yearly total so far to 26. Books after the jump!

Fiction: Bedtime for an Impertinent Girl

I wrote this story in the Fall of 2023 when I was quite sick for several weeks with a bad asthma exacerbation and bronchitis. I had a lot of time to fall into my head and fantasize, daydream, think about spanking, etc. At the same time, a green sweater I found on eBay from Flynn & O’Hara, to match a black watch plaid kilt, tie, and green knee socks I’d already purchased, arrived in the mail. A complete uniform, from a school in a neighboring state. I put the whole kit on one day when I had a bit more energy, and took some photos, admired myself in the mirror, and allowed myself to fall into a fantasy about it. After the jump is the photo that inspired the story here, and the story itself. It’s only ever been shared with one other and I hadn’t re-read it nearly since I wrote it, but I’m rather fond of it. Uniform feels even further away than kink more generally right now, and has for months, so I am re-reading old personal writings in an attempt to feel that connection again. As for the title, it is a pre-bedtime story, so don’t expect pajama spanking here. There are three photos here – the original one that inspired it plus two bonus ones at the end. The story has some daddy vibes, those being some of my favorites. I hope you don’t mind.

It is M/F, semi-cons, includes uniform, line writing, and temperature taking.
