Preparing for a Spanking Party

I am an expert travel packer. I don’t mean that as a brag, but I travel a fair amount and I’ve put a lot of research and effort into perfecting my system. I can pack for 5-8 days in a carry on, if necessary, but I obviously prefer not to. The Oasis spanking party was in February in Las Vegas (it takes place twice a year over President’s Day weekend and Labor Day weekend) and I attended for the second (err, third, but we won’t talk about that) time and had a great time. This time I also vended ebony hairbrushes at a table primarily for my friend Alex and her venture, NS Mercantile, selling vintage spanking implements – primarily pervertables. I share Alex’s love for all vintage spanking implements, but my personal interests are focused on hairbrushes – ebony and otherwise. I helped her with her stuff and added several of my own brushes to the count. However, this post will focus on getting ready for a spanking party. I get a LOT of questions about this. One of them is about packing and what to bring.

I didn’t bother trying to pack in just a carry on, given the outfit changes, number of panties required, implements I brought for my own use, and the ebony brushes I needed to bring to sell. I start my packing prep by mentally organizing what I know I want to bring to wear – the things that are a given. Favorite clothing items are usually at the top of this and outfits for specific or themed events. I already know I’ll need a lot of panties and several bras. If you wear shoes with socks, they’d go into this mental basket. I do not. Then I start thinking about all the “filler” outfits – jeans, shorts, leggings, and t-shirts to wear during down time, time away from the hotel, and in between events. Pajamas make the list here – I mentally organize my cutest options and my favorite comfy ones, if there isn’t overlap. Most spanking parties have a formal evening at least one night and a vendors fair/mixer style event another night – this is often Friday for the more informal mixer/vendors fair and fancier dinner on Saturday night. Oasis follows this format. There are other events throughout the weekend that might require a specific outfit (school, FF, costumes, etc). About a week out, I start writing down a more formal clothing packing list, so I know what I need to have clean. I will link to things I personally use and recommend, where applicable. These are affiliate links, but you don’t have to use them!

My list looks something like this, for the events I typically attend:

  • Casual dresses (3-4) [I list which dresses by print/color]
  • Jeans (x3) [I list which pairs]
  • Shorts (x2) [I list which pairs]
  • Leggings (x3)
  • Bee shirt
  • Moka pot shirt
  • Dog shirt
  • Blue/white crop tops
  • Peachy crop top
  • Dress for dinner [I write out which special occasion dress it is]
  • Dress for FF [I write out which specific dress]
  • Green, bright blue, black v-neck tshirts
  • Unsupervised crop top for vendors fair
  • Birkenstock sneakers (wear on plane)
  • Birkenstocks (pack)
  • 20-35 panties [If I got new ones or want specific, I will sometimes list them]
  • Black, green, pink (x2) bras
  • White bralette
  • Sleep shirts (x2)
  • Pajama sets (x3)
  • Green gingham swimsuit

I pack all of my clothing in these compression packing cubes. I will occasionally bring heels for the formal dinner, as well, and possibly one other pair of casual shoes like a pair of slip on converse. All of the other things I need, go on a separate list, and they might be even more important than the clothing in some ways.

  • Scrunchies
  • Bows
  • Deodorant
  • Masks
  • Toiletry case [I note to check for tweezers, scissors, and nail clippers, but mine has shower stuff & travel sizes of my skincare]
  • Medicine case [I list anything that needs a refill – I carry a small case with OTC meds in it]
  • Brush for hair
  • Prescriptions [In their original bottles]
  • Phone tripod [for taking photos solo]
  • Charging cables/bricks for phone, watch, computer; multi wall plug
  • Crossbody bag, tote bag
  • My stuffie
  • Hoodie [wear on plane]
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Laptop
  • Misc things I add into pouches and like to have with me: tide pen, individually packaged wipes, chaffing lotion, lotion, body scrub (if checking a bag!), nail cuticle oil, zit patches, nail files, nail polish, q-tips, flossers, notebook/pen, hair ties, gum, AirPods, loop ear plugs, one lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, chapstick/lip balm, lip scrub, exfoliating wash cloth
  • Buy when I arrive: snacks, drinks, liquid hand soap, full size pack of wipes

I organize things into pouches – I use ones I already have that you can’t actually get anymore, so I don’t have specific ones to share, but any will work. I organize all my toiletries and skincare into a small rectangular case and personally de-pot my skincare into small glass containers since most of them don’t come in travel sizes. It’s neatly organized and my razor and tide pen fit inside as well. With the compression packing cubes, I can fit a LOT in just my carry-on even without expanding it. I often pair it with my mini-go bag from Baboon to The Moon, and between the two I managed my 8 days in the Netherlands in October/November last year! For a spanking party weekend, I would bring both of these PLUS a checked bag. If the go bag didn’t feel necessary, I would bring just my favorite leather backpack or a crossbody bag.

As for implements, I don’t typically provision for buying any, when I attend a party, but I have at the last two Oasis parties I attended. In September, I bought a cattle collar strap from Aaron at Alpine Impact, and in February, I purchased a vintage swagger stick from Alex, after eyeing them for months. I typically bring my own personal hairbrushes, my LT DD Strop, and maybe a tawse or two. I pack them in my checked bag, and add an apple air tag to the bag, for security. I actually put one in each of my bags – checked, carry on, and the one on my keys is in my personal item. When I bring brushes to sell, I try and put them in my carry on/backpack, not just for security, but because I know I’ll have that space on the way home.

I have seen other people list things they like to bring, that I don’t, for whatever reason. Especially if they’re driving from a more local location! Some of these are:

  • pillow/pillow case
  • extra blanket
  • humidifier
  • hair tools (straightener, curling iron, curlers, etc)
  • ring light
  • snacks, drinks for the room [I do a target pickup for these items!]
  • board games
  • extension cord
  • eye masks
  • safety pins
  • slippers
  • robes
  • bandaids
  • sharpies

I’d be curious if there’s anything not on these lists that someone has brought to a spanking party and found useful! It probably sounds like a lot – and it is – but organized and packed into a suitcase it’s not so bad. I am also an unpacker, so when I arrive, I unpack my cubes into drawers, toiletries into the bathroom, and everything else will have a place so much as I can help it.

I’ll try and write about how a large national party works, next, because I often get questions about how play happens, etc.

  1. Nothing I’ve attended, hadn’t considered it’s existence a possibility yet I easily see it’s place. That thought done let’s look at the one that brought me to speak.

Nice post. Amid mountains of kink you’ve done an excellent job of covering a lot of really insightful and useful ground for others. Well done!

Familiar with Mason Pearson? (Yes, just a regular brush but one with interesting history.)

    1. Thanks! I hope at least some of it is useful for others – or at least entertaining to read!

The brush I use for my hair is a Mason Pearson Junior! I have three “Popular” ones as well. The first broke after it flew out of a spankers hand and hit the wall and cracked. He replaced it. That one cracked in my personal item on my way home from Oasis in 2024 (very sad!!) so I still use it for hair but not spanking. I got a third one second hand, and that cracked while being used for spanking! I don’t think the large Popular size is really appropriate for spanking actually. I think it’s too big. The smaller surface area of the Junior seems safer, but I won’t let anyone use it unless they agree to replace it if it cracks, because I love it for my hair. I just wish they were wood! They’re SUCH a classic and showed up in so many of the spanking stories I read early on.

      1. That’s interesting and news to me. I’ve left some reddened flesh behind but….. Never with that. The history behind them is interesting and my comment was meant playfully but…. It’s cool to learn something new and hear the perspective, “thank you”.

        1. It’s why most of my focus is in vintage ebony hairbrushes – they’re much sturdier than plastic. I do LOVE the limited edition Mason Pearson brushes, and I may buy one when I go to the UK, but I am not sure they’ll be any sturdier to be honest.

          1. Again, quite interesting.

Watch price with exchange and know current price at home. Don’t forget VAT when budgeting but do study a bit before going on VAT refunds and how to qualify. This will save you 20% of most costs and that adds up.

Do they make custom brushes? Some of the exotic woods would be a good fit given their properties.
