I am back from vacation, where I had very limited internet access and only on my phone – which isn’t ideal for writing or blogging. I brought my computer but didn’t open it once! We were on a cruise to the Bahamas so there was very little privacy – cruise cabins not being known for their size, especially when there is a kiddo involved! We did get some grown-up time though, thanks to the kids club, and spent a lot of time in the thermal spa, relaxing in steam rooms, jacuzzi’s, and saunas. One evening, I even got a cheeky hand-spanking – posted a photo on Fetlife! Apparently, the skirt I’d worn that day was inspiring. Luckily, we hadn’t heard any noise on either side from other guests, so it felt safe enough. Especially when everyone seemed to be out at dinner. When he was done, he stood me in the corner on our balcony, to enjoy the view and admire his handiwork. It was a lovely little bit of connection and felt a bit naughtier than a hotel, but also safe. It would have been nice to get to play more with our alone time, but it didn’t happen.
Kink still feels far away in terms of fantasy/thoughts/dreams, etc but I’m trying to engage socially because it’s good for my soul and alleviates some of the depression and anxiety I am dealing with. Same with writing about kink. Eventually, it has to get better, right?
In that regard, I’ve got a few blog posts in the pipeline. One is about mismatches in kink with partners (mostly my own, but broadly, too), a part 2 to my story Lending a Hand to Disobedience, a post about the real-life application of orgasm control (this makes it sound more formal than it is, though) in my own relationship, and, well, a few others. I am most likely to post the one about kink mismatches first, since I’ve touched on it in several posts already.

I enjoyed reading about your vacation, Marie. So glad you got to get away and enjoy yourselves. It had me remembering a cruise my husband and I took around Ireland and Scotland, back when we were incorporating DD into our marriage. My husband brought the short, thick tawse with us, as a homage to Scotland, but more so because it is a pretty quiet implement (though I have a hard time being quiet when it is applied 🙂 ). And I would love to read your kink mismatch post…so many of us face that! XOXO
I may get us a smaller heavy tawse – maybe it would be quieter? Belts are pretty loud, even heavy ones. I have a heavy regular sized tawse but I think it’s quite loud. I do struggle to be quiet with the tawse though. Or stoic – not that I try very hard to be stoic ever 👀
I’ve been to Scotland once but didn’t get to see much of the country. I think we are eyeing a British isles or Scandinavian cruise for our 10th wedding anniversary next year!
Definitely try a smaller, heavier one (thicker than a strap or belt)….much quieter than a hairbrush or paddle, and packs a mightly wallop. Definitely incentive to behave! 🙂
I wonder if our newer heavy leather paddle is quiet because of its weight. I’ll have to pay attention if we ever use it again lol where did you get your smaller tawse?
I believe it came from Cane-Iac, but I believe I read they were going out of business.
It’s a real shame Cane-Iac closed. We had a cane from them that broke in 2023 and I was sad to learn I couldn’t replace it!
